The Rob and Melani Walton Foundation works with partners who see the unseen, connect the unconnected, and wonder with their sleeves rolled up.

Actively involved in their philanthropic relationships, Rob and Melani work all over the planet to collaborate on strategies and implement on-the-ground work. Together, their partnerships have brought them from the top of the Volksburg down to the depths of the Raja Ampat Bird’s Head. They have worked alongside their partners in planting trees on Turtle Island and translocating elephants in Malawi. They have invested in many diverse and dynamic projects in the United States, as well, through the Rob and Melani Walton Foundation and in partnership with the Walton Family Foundation. The Rob and Melani Walton Sustainability Solutions Service at Arizona State University (WSSS) imagines and designs creative solutions for local and global sustainability challenges. Phoenix Theatre’s Partners That Heal, a W.O.N.D.E.R. Project, brings therapeutic theatre to hospitalized children; the Phoenix Symphony’s B-Sharp Music Wellness, a W.O.N.D.E.R. Project, delivers and measures the impact of therapeutic music on stress levels in patients with Alzheimer’s. They helped Arizona Science Center create The W.O.N.D.E.R. Center, which educates children and adults about neuroscience, positive psychology, and mindfulness. And they have worked with St. Vincent de Paul to help the organization expand its urban farm, increasing the amount of fresh food available and education for those experiencing homelessness. This is just a fraction of the work in which they’ve been involved over the last decade.
